This may or may not interest you.

The Omnilog-100:

        - 32 analog acquisition channels (up to 512 channels)
	- 16 bits resolution (1uV resolution)
	- Input impedance >200 GigaOhms, yes 200 GOmhs
        - Analog *programmable* outputs on request
        - Single ended, differential or pseudo-differential inputs
        - voltage Precision 0.1% FS
        - scale and resolution programmable for every channel independently
        - Micro-processor on board, memory on board
        - RS-232
        - Noise rejection (50 et 60 Hz) 120dB
        - Reference manual
	- This device is intended for low frequency high accuracy measurments

This device can work either as a stand alone (battery) or a slave on the RS-232 port. It is free of the switching power supply of the PCs since it connects outside and it is isolated from the PC.
If you go with a acquisition plug-in PC card, you will scrap at least 4 bits of resolution because of the switching power supply, and you will have to build your own differential amplifier, which may or may not be an easy task for you. (plus the time you'll spend to make it work).

I use it for Analog Integrated Circuits Testing: I-V characteristics, temperature drifts, and other low-frequency stuff. The good news about the 32 channels is that you always have some channels left for power supply and ground monitoring (is the ground a "real good" ground?).
