You may start by getting a copy of "Biological Neural Networks in
Invertebrate Neuroethology and Robotics" edited by Randall Beer, Roy
Ritzmann, and Thomas McKenna (1993).  San Diego & London: Academic Press. 
It is recent and quite comprehensive.
