Check out Radio Electronics (at the library they have an index)
their was an article about the Lawn Rover. This was more elaborate 
than just a radio control. It could work unattended and can check
to see if the lawn needs mowed, it in fact was a robot. Also I
think it would return to it's house for a recharge and then 
complete it's task.
