The Australian Robot Association/International Federation of Robotics
international conference on "Robots for Competitive Industries" takes place
in the Sheraton Brisbane hotel from 14 to 16 July 1993, just before the IFAC
world congress in Sydney. Confirmed keynote speakers to date are Roderick
Draughon (Flow International Corporation, USA) on Robotic Water-jet Cutting;
Patrick Finlay (Armstrong Projects Limited, UK) on Robotic Systems for Health
and Retirement Care; Toshiaki Fujimori (Shimizu Corporation, Japan) on Robotics
for the Construction Industry; Georges Giralt (CNRS, France) on Outdoor Mobile Robots; Rolf Schraft (Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and
Automation, Germany) on New Robot Applications in Manufacturing; Francis Sevila
(CEMAGREF, France) on Robotic Fruit Harvesting; and James Trevelyan (University
of Western Australia) on Robotic Sheep Shearing. Call for Papers (title, abstract, near-final text) by 15 January 1993 to Prof. H. Kaebernick, Mechanical
