                      ===================
The aim of this IEEE Conference is to bring together CONTROL SYSTEMS
RESEARCHERS AND PRACTICIONERS (systems people)
working in Academia, Goverment and Industry so they can discuss the latest
developments in modern control. Emphasis will be placed on INTELLIGENT and
MODERN CONTROL methods and their applications

                            TOPICS
                     =====================

                          (I) METHODS
          Modeling                           Linear and Nonlinear Systems
          Intelligent Control                Neural Networks
          Discrete-event systems             Adaptive Control
          Stochastic Control                 Numerical Methods
          Fuzzy Logic

                      (II)   APPLICATIONS
          Robotics                           CIM
          Quality Control                    Computer Control
          Real-Time Software                 Man-Machine Systems

                            SUBMISSION OF PAPERS
                     ==================================
Four copies of an extended abstract (2-3 pages/ 1000 to 1500 words) should
be received by the Conference Secretariat before JANUARY 15, 1993.
The extended abstract should be written in English and include the names,
complete mailing address, e-mail, phone and fax numbers of the authors and
five keywords. The abstracts will be reviewed by the Program Committee.
Authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection by MARCH 1, 1993. Final
papers will be due at the conference. Accepted full papers will be
published in Conference proceedings.

                       REQUEST FOR SPECIAL SESSIONS
                    ==================================
Four copies of proposals for invited sessions, including paper abstracts,
should be submitted to the conference secretariat before JANUARY 15, 1992 to
the secretariat address. Invited sessions should include a survey paper and
possibly a panel discussion.

                    TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF CRETE
                  ==================================
The symposium is organized by the Laboratory of Automation, Dept. of
Electronic and Computer Engineering of the Technical University of Crete.
The University is located in the beautiful city of Chania on the island
of Crete. THE LOCATION AND THE TIME OF THE CONFERENCE OFFER UNIQUE
OPPORTUNITIES TO THE PARTICIPANTS AND THEIR FAMILIES TO EXPLORE THE SITES AND
THE GOLDEN MEDITTERANEAN BEACHES OF CHANIA AND OF THE WHOLE ISLAND OF CRETE,
BEFORE AND AFTER THE CONFERENCE. THE BEAUTIFUL AND HISTORICALLY RICH
CITY OF CHANIA IS ONLY 30 MINUTES AWAY FROM ATHENS BY PLANE.
