I just got my hands on some 68HC16F1 specs, and my first question is:
where can I get development tools for this beastie? Stuff like a macro
assembler, possibly a C compiler, monitor source etc. Any information
greatly appreciated.

Also, from what I've seen, this device is only available in a surface mount
package. How would one go about prototyping with this? Are sockets
available for a 132 pin SMD?

Simon.
