NOMINATING: Colin "The Right Reverend" James III,
cjames@cec-services.com, as Kook Of The Month.
Vote early, vote often!

           Jihad on biz.*, comp.* and soc.* groups by
           The Right Reverend Colin James III

           VOTE BY EMAIL TO mlegare@wetware.com!!!

The Right Reverend CJIII appears to have set the absolute
Usenet record on the number of complaints to sysadmins and/or
employers: in the last three months, he has complained about at
least 60 (!) people by e-mail, fax and phone.

The whole thing started when CJIII posted some rather weird
messages about a sort method ("BSAM") that he had allegedly invented.
Being confronted with the fact that he did not understand the
key aspect of his "invention" (namely, how to estimate
performance), he anathemized and excommunicated his opponents and started
sending complaints to their sysadmins, bosses, the
Inspector General (for posters working on government
contracts), etc.

The mass anathemizing reminiscent of the witch trials in the mid-evil
Europe remained a comp.lang.*-specific phenomenon
for some time, then somehow spilled to news.admin.* and soc.culture.*,
with the numbers of the faithless ones
condemned to fire and brimstone greatly increasing.

For your enlightenment and spiritual purification, a fine
selection of the Right Reverend's generous contributions to
Usenet is offered below.

We hope that these morsels of divinely inspired wisdom make you
see the light and reward the piousness and perseverance of the
RR CJIII with the most appropriate and well-earned title of the
Kook of the Month.

Read on and vote "YES" (mailto:mlegare@wetware.com).

Collection of the selected prose by Colin James III follows.

CJIII's "estimate" of complexity of his BSAM method:

>radix_sort No    n log n  n log n  n^2      n log n  n log n  n^2
>BSAM       No                                                 n+ n^0.5
^^^^^^                                                        ^^^^^^^^^^
================================================================
          Any computer science student knows that complexity
          (n + n^0.5) makes no sense. After that
          no one was surprised to read this:
          [quoting CJIII]
================================================================
>Not one person who reads this news group from a Fortune 500 company
>has requested a non disclosure agreement.
>
>That means either no one is interested in seeing what BSAM is or that
>no Fortune 500 readers frequent these groups (fairly likely) or both
>(very likely).
================================================================
          Responding to somebody's comment about his obvious
          cluelessness, CJIII discovers that the best way of
          defense is attack:
================================================================
>| That doesn't really give you much room to go around
>| criticizing anyone else's intelligence.
>
>I am not criticizing your or anyone's intelligence; I suggest you

>I fully intend to give you the last word here, so by all means make
>further posts, to which I refuse subsequent comments.
>
>Anathama maranatha.
