I'm new to ST and WB myself, but had a similar problem.   WB tech
support told me (not in the Windows Installation Guide) that WB Prot
doesn't support more than 256 colors - In my case I was at 1024x768
64k colors and it gpf'ed  when trying to save the image.  Switching to
256 colors cured it.

Also note (in the WB Pro docs) that the order of installation is
apparently important.  For example, if you use DT's ObjectFiler, it
should be installed first.
