According to the German weekly COMPUTERWOCHE, KHK will continue it's
project. It is said that the staff will be cut down from 40 to 10
developers. The development will be concentrated at Frankfurt (read:
minus Basel and Soest). Basic-Tools are scheduled for mid 95, FiBu
(finance book-keeping) shall follow.

CW reports that about half of the 15 distribution partners will drop
X-Line.

The reasons given in the front page article for this failure can be
summarized as 'communication problems': according to Georg Heeg (of
Georg Heeg Objektorientierte Systeme), the project members have never
been a real team and pragmatic solutions for implementation problems
were missing.

IMHO the project idea is still sound; I can't believe that the field
of midsized companies will be left to SAP too. The task of tailoring
sw to customers needs is in my view an ideal battleground for
objectoriented technologies.
