hello all,

I have the following problem:

I have one machine with Windows-NT server 3.5 on it acting as a
server for an Oracle-7 database. I have installed SQL-NET
for TCP/IP support.

On the client machine I have Windows for Workgroups 3.11 connected
with the server by the standard microsoft network. On this machine
I have installed the TCP/IP-32 support for WfW 3.11, which came with
Windows-NT.

I am able to connect from the client to the oracle database with a
program called nettest, which came with the oracle TCP/IP SQL-NET
for windows.

I have installed the Oracle database connect For Windows in Visual
Works 2.0. When I try to make a connection with the database I get
an error: Oracle-error: 6106 Unable to create socket.

After this I have called oracle-support, they were't able to help me.

I have used the following:

username: visual
password: visual
environment: T:SURFER (@T:SURFER, T:SURFER:ORACLE)

The user: visual can issue an CREATE SESSION command.

Do you know what the problem might be?

Many thanks,
