The same thing happened to me when I moved to 9.05. Killing the X server is
not enough. Try rebooting (!), this works for me... but just for a little
while.

The problem seems to be due to Smalltalk eating all available color cells
(a few hundred), and not being contempt with the ones it has. But why does
killing the X server not cure the problem? Why does a reboot do?

Any hint would be appreciated,
