Hi gurus (I hope :-),

It seems that VisualWorks 1.0 release A doesn't know what a Virtual
Desktop is. I use TWM on X11R5 on an X-terminal. VisualWorks runs on a
SPARCsystem-10 under Solaris 2.3. In TWM I have defined a virtual desktop
of 3000x2000 dots, with a 1024x1024-dot viewport. All applications that I
have tried recognize and obey this Virtual Desktop, except VW. Placing a
VW window somewhere in the viewport places it in the top-left square of
size 1024x1024 of the virtual desktop, no matter where the viewport is
pointing. In other words, VW seems to take the relative coordinates as
absolute.

I hope the problem is clear now, and obviously I'm looking for a solution.
My knowledge of Smalltalk in general and VW in particular is quite
limited. Does anybody know how to solve this? Do we need to upgrade VW (I
know v1.1 exists), or is a simple file-in patch available somewhere? I'd
prefer a patch because of the trouble it would give to upgrade (complex
organisation, many users with many projects).

Thanks for your attention!

Peter
