: Has anyone out there used GeODE & GemStone ?

I haven't used GeODE myself, but another guy I know used it a lot. I
used GemStone with the GSI.

: What did you think of it?

On the network in Manchester it was slow. It was impossible to use the
rpc the version. The linked version was faster but nevertheless slow.

: Would you use it again ?

I wouldn.t use it. The GSI is more powerful and I think not much
harder to use.

: Is it ready for prime time ?

I don't know, but GemStone has in my opinion a long way to go to
become a mature datanbase.

You're welcome.

P.S. Maybe you can ask Carole Goble in Manchester about experiences
with GemStone and GeODE. Her email adress is: cag@cs.man.ac.uk
Don't expect a fast answer, because she has much work to do.
