I asked this about 6 months ago before I took the plunge.  I found that
much depends on the location, whether you work for a body shop or an
OO specialist, whether you are willing to travel extensivly or
relocate to NYC, etc.  The range seems to be from about $30/hr for
a rank newbie with only school experience to over $100/hr for an 
experienced consultant in a major finacial center like NYC.

Also, in the FAQ, Ralph Johnson metions a mailing list or file of
jobs requiring Smalltalk.  I haven't seen it, but there may be
info in there.
