Being ignored, rather than burning at a metaphorical stake, may
be what a present-day heretic needs most fear :-)

For what my opinion is worth, I like your scheme, but I lack the
sophistication to see how it relates with the rather more 
conceptual issues discussed in the other threads on typed Prolog.

(To the knowledgeable crowd) Why this silence ? 
In the case it is because the scheme fails for "glaring" 
technical, esthetical, or moral reasons, would a kind soul
please point these out, so as to save a blind innocent from
following Jamie Andrews in heresy ? 

BTW, it's nice to see the pros debating on c.l.p again; at times,
it looks as if the gods, too bored with the novices and tourists,
have moved the pantheon to some private place(s).
