This is very interesting, and I thank you, Dan, for running the
numbers. I am curious, though, about the interpretation. Is this
the total number of messages in each group that are currently on
your server? That would make the numbers dependant on your news
server's setup (how long msgs are kept, etc.)

Is it from a counter that counted the number of messages
arriving on your server last month? This year? Is it from some
source other that *your* news server?

Don't misinterpret this as criticism. It's that your posting
is interesting enough that I would love to know more details.

One thing that I would love to see is a graph showing the number
of posts per month for each of the top 20 languages going back
a few years and updated monthly. That would make a pretty hot
web page!
