The most often used are clisp and gcl. clisp is more comfortable and
faster at compiling and loading, where gcl's compiled code runs
faster. gcl-2.x seems to be no as stable as 1.x for now (I don't use
it, don't know whether this really affects useability, probably a
matter of your application).

There is an attempt underway to port CMU CL to Linux/x86, FreeBSD and
probably NetBSD/i386 and I think it is save now to say that there
*will* be a port. I can't say anything about dates, though, since this
port is driven by individuals (at this point, by *one* individual) and
the amount of time spent on this project varies.
