That is probably the first time anyone has attached the adjective
``humble'' to me.  Here we have a collection of operating systems that
are dragged out by at least one of us when we need to find a counter
argument to whatever ludicrous Unix-ism we're most upset about.  Multics
is invoked by me and a few other ex-Birmingham people as ``God's Own
Operating System'' (yes, I'm aware of the GCOS irony) whilst the local
NextStep fans jeer.

I swing between missing the =-name convention more than I miss most
commands taking a -chase/-no_chase flag to control their chasing of
links and vice versa.  When I'm not missing those I'm missing nesting of
active functions.
