Many people think that New Yorkers are unfriendly as well.  Still,
there seems to be no shortage of people willing to live in New York.

Many people have trouble using manual cameras or stick shifts.
Yet, those devices are still being sold and used widely.

UNIX was never sold as the OS "for the masses" or "for the rest of
us".  If people use it despite its cryptic commands, they probably
find it useful.  I know I do.
