If any of you are thinking of using LISP for mathematical programming you might like to know about muLISP which is a dialect optimised for that task.  It is incredibly compact and will run on any PC.  Get in touch and I can send you full details.
The computer algebra system DERIVE is written in muLISP. They were both developed by Soft Warehouse in Honolulu, USA.
