I'm sorry if this relevant to most, but I can't seem to find anyone at
computer stores to give me any information.

I am looking at buying a Performa 6115CD (has a PPC chip) or a Performa 630
for use in 4 ways:
o my 8 year old daughter
   - no problem here
  o running MCL
   - no problem here, I can run in emulation mode until a native version
     comes out
o run the Mac as a dumb terminal
   - I want to dialin to work on my Sun workstation. I would then just run
     emacs in tty mode.
? What do I need in terms of software to do this?
? Can I do this under System 7.5 or do I need to be running AUX?
o run the Mac as an Xterm
   - I want to dialin to work on my Sun workstation and be able to bring up
X based applications (ie. object browsers for C++ or Dylan soon). Or
     dialin and use Mosaic.
? Do I have to have Apple's Unix (AUX) running?
? Can I boot Unix and regular System 7.5?
? Does AUX run in emulation mode on all Mac's?
? What speed modem do I need to make this situation bearable?
? Are there good X clients for the Mac?

Any help would be appreciated.
