This course, conducted over the Internet, is free and is intended
for absolute beginners in AI, who are free of orthodox prejudice.

Textbook: You will write your own. Start a notebook of your AI.

Homework: Your first assignment is to write a brief essay of how
you think about AI, what it means to you, your hopes and fears of
the Singularity predicted by the mediocre SF writer Vernor Vinge.
Turn in your homework assignment by posting it in this newsgroup,
but hurry, before Rupert Murdoch agrees to censor or kill Usenet.

Practicum: Feel free to implement what you learn about AI within
a thinking robot or in pressing your political agenda. If you as
a taxpayer feel that not one tiny coin more ought to be spent for
physics and for generating fifty thousand years of nuclear waste,
demand of your parliamentary representative that all money wasted
on bloated and useless physics departments be shifted to robotics
and other infrastructure needed to create the cybernetic economy.
