Whereas commercial airlines are a prime vector of such physically
infectious agents as tuberculosis, AIDS and Ebola,  libraries and
librarians are the ICBM of fast, reliable delivery for the deadly
infections known as "memes" -- the parasitic viruses of the mind.

When the TB germ circulating within an airtight airline cabin can
hope to replicate itself only among a flight crew and the holiday
travelers given over to the always risky, nay, foolhardy practice
of breathing,  meanwhile cultural and scientific memes lurking in
libraries are sure to infect entire nations with the psychorhagic
consequences such as totalitarian Communism or democratic freedom
or Vingean Singularity, based on the Meme of Mentifex Mind-making
which has recently infected the World Wide Web so feverishly that
you, too, may catch the Mentifex Meme from the nearest librarian:
