Hello,

One of my students is looking for a good problem in distributed
control which could be addressed using (mobile or stationary)
software agents.

I suggested something like load-balancing in a network of
telephone switches. He likes the idea of a climate control
system which has many sensors and effectors.

Any suggestions?

I need an example which will allow my student to explore the
benefits/pitfalls of central v.s. distributed control
architectures.

References would be appreciated but what I really need is a
good solid problem.

Please send email and I will compile the answers for the group.

Regards,
J.C.
