Is there anyone out there doing research or interested in questions about
music and AI? I am ver interested in the subject and would like to
communicate with someone with similar interests. In particular I would
like to create a system that can "understand" music and create new pieces
based on models and theoretical knowledge. Perhaps it's already been
done...?

I'm just getting into the area, and am nowhere near entering the field.
My computer experience is limited as well and would like some advice as
to how and where I could get started. Anyone interested in helping,
please email me at the above address (rnewsham@hawaii.edu).

Thanks,
	rob
