There was an article by Charles L. Forgy in the Sept/Oct. issue of
PC AI magazine entitled "The OPS Languages: An Historical Overview." In
it, he mentions that the latest release of OPS is OPS/R2 released in
1995. The company founded by Forgy is Production Systems Technology

: Both languages were created by Prof. Charles Forgy of Carnegie Mellon.
: OPS5 was used his PhD dissertation to introduce the renowned Rete
: optimization algorithm to the world and which is now used in most
: forward-chaining production systems.

: OPS83 was his later attempt to commercialize his expert system research into
: a marketable product. Haven't seen mention of it recently or most other
: commerical expert system shells lately. Probably gone out of fashion.
