Hello all

I've been reading this newsgroup for a while, and yes, I've read
and digested the FAQ; which seems pretty out of date, but still useful
in places. I've finally decided to take a plunge back into the world
of ESs, and do some work. I'll be looking at using the ES to massage
data in a number of MS Access tables, ideally using Access basic to fire
off DLL functions that control the ES, which in turn pass back info, or
act directly on the Db.

The choice of Access may not be vital, but I'd need very good reasons
to change (like there aren't shells out there that can interface with
it). Technically, I'm a little rusty, but I've done a few courses (my
degree was AI), and built a few ESs from scratch in my time, so I'm sure
I'll be able to cope.

Questions to all you ES gurus:
1. do most PC ESs have databases attached, or can they link into other
dbs?
2. what PC ESs are out there (money is not too much of a problem) -
does anyone have an up-to-date list?
3. has anyone done similar projects (even in the broadest sense of the
word)?

Mail me, and I'll summarise, or just mail this group (I'm not certain
that I'm getting all the articles, though...)

Thanks,
Robin Allenson
