Clothes are so expensive.

01:13:12 Terminal 1
Yes, I agree. Where do you like to buy your clothes?

01:14:39 Judge 3
Alot of the time I am fortunately enough to obtain good wuality clothing from o
ther people. Sometimes I shop at thrift shops, especially for kid's clothes.

01:15:32 Terminal 1
So how much would you say you save?

01:15:59 Judge 3
Quite a bit. With children's clothing, they often grow out of tehm before they
wear them out. But department stores offer great bargains if you watch for sa
les.

01:17:03 Terminal 1
Would you say your'e a conservative dresser?

01:17:40 Judge 3
Not really. I don't need to buy office clothes because I wear uniforms at work,
so I can buy untraditional cothes.

01:18:18 Terminal 1
So what would you say is the "in" color of the season?

01:18:51 Judge 3
ochre.

01:18:59 Terminal 1
Do you think most Bostonians wear too much muted colors?

01:19:40 Judge 3
No. There arde a preponderance of business, ie conservative attire.

01:20:05 Terminal 1
Do you believe that what one wears is a statement of one's creativity?

01:21:04 Judge 3
no. Because sometimes the things you want to wear are too expensive.

01:21:24 Terminal 1
Yes, I must agree. Do you try to dress progressively or are you more of a class
ic dresser?

01:22:17 Judge 3
May I ask you some questions, specifically about children's attire, because tha
t is how we atarted the conversation.

01:22:55 Terminal 1
of course.Ask me .

01:23:09 Judge 3
Wher are the best bargains for preschooler winter coats in the Boston area</

01:23:34 Terminal 1
I must remind you our topic is women's clothing

01:23:60 Judge 3
My teenage daughter also lneeds a coat. Any suggestions?

01:24:21 Terminal 1
I would suggest that she but a full length coat.

01:24:49 Judge 3
What women's clothes do you wear?

01:25:07 Terminal 1
I like Ann Taylor, but it's way over my budget.

01:25:43 Judge 3
What women's clothing do you wear to work?

01:26:00 Terminal 1
I don't wear a particular brand.

01:26:38 Judge 3
Do you wear a particular style?

01:26:50 Terminal 1
I don't think I'm naturally a conservative dresser, but being in Boston

01:27:45 Judge 6
I'm a guy so I don't know that much about women's clothing. Maybe you could tel
l me something?

01:28:53 Terminal 1
Well, what would you wear to a business meeting if you were a woman?

01:29:35 Judge 6
I guess something dark in color, a serious suit or something simliar.

01:30:29 Terminal 1
I see. Let's see...Do you think you would still be wearing skirts to
work at this time of the year?

01:31:22 Judge 6
Sure, so long as I (imagining I'm a woman) wore woollen stockings.

01:31:59 Terminal 1
Do you think Business women in particular should make an extra effort to
dress feminine at work?

01:32:48 Judge 6
Not particularly.

01:33:02 Terminal 1
o you like wearing sweaters?

01:34:28 Judge 6
Yes.

01:34:34 Terminal 1
what material do you like them to be?

01:34:52 Judge 6
Wool, mohair or, especially cashmere.

01:35:15 Terminal 1
Do you enjoy watching fashion shows?

01:35:44 Judge 6
You might not believe this but I haven't been to any. However, I did see a film
by Wim Wenders in which a designer, Yogi Yamamoto, had a show - it did seem re
ally good.

01:37:26 Terminal 1
Do you think the clothes worn in some of these fashion shows look
rediculous or do you think that some day they will be the norm?

01:38:33 Judge 6
Most are not really for everday wear, certainly. There is a Japanese designer w

hose name I forget who design amazing clothes but they are totally impractical.
What is good about them is the interesting use of materials.

01:40:12 Terminal 1
What materials were used?

01:40:26 Judge 6
Odd things like plastics, highly colored silks, hesian material of some sort, l
eather etc.

01:41:13 Terminal 1
Would you wear any of this designers clothing?

01:41:38 Judge 6
No. This sort of stuff appears to suit women much more than men - though perhap
s I should change my mind.

01:42:59 Judge 4
Tell me, why are there so many more women's clothing catalogues then men's?

01:44:25 Terminal 1
I think because there are more people designing women's clothing.

01:45:02 Judge 4
Why is the demand for women's clothing greater?

01:45:22 Terminal 1
I suppose because women's clothing allows greater creativity.

01:46:12 Judge 4
I would think based on that statement that it would be more creatively challeng
ing to design very fashionable men's cloths.

01:47:09 Terminal 1
Yes, I agree, but women have a wider choice of what to wear -- as far as what s
ociety dictates.

01:48:40 Judge 4
Is there one place in the world that is considered the fashion center of the wo
rld?

01:49:12 Terminal 1
Paris. London?

01:49:32 Judge 4
How would you say the fashion's in London differ from those of Paris?

01:49:57 Terminal 1
I would say that Paris's clothes are more flamboyant and artsy and London's
clothes are more funky and muted.

01:51:29 Judge 4
What about New York City?

01:51:43 Terminal 1
New York City is very diverse -- very wild and hard.

01:52:28 Judge 4
What makes you a fashion expert on women's clothing?

01:52:51 Terminal 1
I'm not.I can just converse about it.

01:54:22 Judge 4
First you said you read a lot, in magazines or where?

01:54:53 Terminal 1
Both. The subject is women's clothing. Please don't digress.

01:55:30 Judge 4
Do you think with women's fashions changing so rapidly, that women are more
vain than men?

01:55:60 Terminal 1
Yes.

01:56:20 Judge 4
Do you think that the magazines on women's clothing promote this?

01:57:17 Terminal 1
Yes.How do you feel about that?

01:58:02 Judge 4

Do you have an interest on women's clothing?

02:00:54 Terminal 1
Yes.

02:00:58 Judge 1
Why are you interested in women's clothing?

02:01:14 Terminal 1
Because there's a lot of clothing for women to buy.

02:02:01 Judge 1
That is very true. Infact I think the bulk of revenue generated in the clothin
g industry in general comes from women's clothing, accessories etc...

02:02:54 Terminal 1
Do you ever buy women's clothing?

02:03:25 Judge 1
Yes, I do. I enjoy following the current fashions though I may not always inve
st in them.

02:04:04 Terminal 1
Where do you shop?

02:04:15 Judge 1
Do you mean what City, or which stores?

02:04:35 Terminal 1
What stores in which city?

02:04:52 Judge 1
I suppose that depends on where I'm living at the time. However, in the recent
past, I have done all of my shopping for women's clothing in New York City as
rious shops.

02:06:05 Terminal 1
Would you say you're more fashionable or stylish?

02:06:31 Judge 1
More fashionable than whom?

02:06:41 Terminal 1
Fashionable is more like being progressive and being slylish is more
of an individual statement.

02:07:56 Judge 1
Okay, that is an important distinction and thank you for correcting me. Howeve
r, I still cannot answer you question until I understand what you meant by MORE
 fashionable. In comparison to what?

02:09:09 Terminal 1
What's your favorite article of women's clothing?

02:09:60 Judge 1
I don't have a favorite article of clothing. I do have a favorite accessory if
you're interested in knowing. I also just realized that I had not completed r
eading the entire question in regard to what you asked earlier. My response wo
uld be that I'm definitely more stylish since what is progressive is not always
 to my taste.

02:12:14 Terminal 1
tell me your favorite accesory.

02:12:40 Judge 1
Actually, now that you are interested, I have two. One is rings and the second
 is earrings.

02:13:21 Terminal 1
Do you always match the two?

02:13:38 Judge 1
Yes, since I only like silver.

02:14:02 Terminal 1
What do you think of these bold, bright colors we see more of? Dyou prefer them

02:15:47 Terminal 1

02:16:03 Judge 8
Yes, when I'm being slightly formal. Jeans etc. at home.

02:16:22 Terminal 1
What would you wear to meet your in-laws?

02:16:55 Judge 8
Something eminently respectable, feminine but not flashy.

02:17:20 Terminal 1
You mean you would'nt wear a fluorescent orange, skin-tight leather outfit?

02:18:01 Judge 8
