This thread is getting rather repetitive.  Am I alone in thinking that most AI
researchers would be more constructively occupied by getting on and producing
intelligent machines, which can perceive, understand, reason, etc just
like you and me, rather than engaging in this non-winnable debate ?

And that when these machines also look just like you and me, and act just
like you and me, the whole question as to whether they have consciousness
will appear so ridiculous that it will not even be worth debating....since
if I believe YOU have consciousness, which I do, there will be absolutely
no justification whatsoever for denying consciousness to that nice Ms Robot
over there....even if she does have green slime instead of blood.
