Drawing on research in psychology, artificial intelligence,
linguistics, philosophy and computer science, work in the Cognitive
Sciences promises an interdisciplinary approach to the mind which
transforms our understanding of psychological phenomena. The
conference will address a variety of questions concerning the
foundations of cognitive science and the philosophical importance of
the models of mind which it produces in such areas as connectionism,
conceptual thought, intentionality, rationality, and perception.

The proceedings of the conference will be published in a volume
produced by the Cambridge University Press, as a supplement to the
journal _Philosophy_.
