A recent poster (I have lost the pointer) says that the way to achieve
A.I. is to *define* "intelligence." This is a classic mistake. Marvin
Minsky used to tell us that every minute spent defining "intelligence"
is a waste of two minutes. The first minute is spent trying to do the
definition itself. The second minute is the time needed to recover
from the confusion engendered by the first minute.
