Ah.  Would that perchance be the fabled doctrine of "Aristotelian
essentialism", which, as every schoolboy knows, has its origin in Quine's
"Two Dogmas of Empiricism?"  Just what does the distinction between essence
and accident have to do with the question of consensual intercourse with
the universals, anyway?

Well, it just goes to show that some of us free spirits just don't take
Wittgenstein's obfuscatory ramblings very seriously.  Even if, as it seems,
he never wrote on essentialism...

That's the trouble with you calculating types: when it comes to philosophy
or mathematics, it's always what "you are told", never what you know.
