Or better yet, mail it to the newsgroup, so others (like me) can enjoy
the suggestions as well.

You might want to try "NN's and Time Series", by John Moody (Oregon
Graduate Institute). I don't have any further details, but is sounds 
promissing ;)
Further more, a lot has been written about time for recurrent networks, 
but I wonder if there is some literature available about time-series in 
normal(?) NN's.
