Okay, I give up. I'm very interested in recent reports on the work of
Steven Thaler, described in _Scientific American_'s (5/95) "Science and
Citizen" section, p. 12, as a "physicist at McDonnell Douglas." He's been
doing work with neural nets, applying them to some unconventional areas of
research, including simulation of near-death experiences and generation of
pop songs. Fascinating stuff, but I can't seem to find any online
references to this particular Thaler (as either SteVen or StePHen) via
gopher, WWW search or netfind. (In other words, I *have* tried other
channels before posting this query.) Can anyone suggest links to follow or
references to look for?

I would prefer responses by email but will endeavor to look here for
posts on the subject as well.

  Many thanks.
