Hi,

I'm using SNNS v3.3 on two machines:
486DX 50MHz running Linux v1.0.9, and
DEC 3000 400 Alpha AXP (133MHz) running OSF/1 v3.2

DEC is a much faster machine, isn't it?

But while learning the net, both using xgui and snnsbat, learning on DEC
is much slower the on 486. Both computers are running X-windows and no other
processes except the system ones and my X-applications. According to
"top", on both computers snnsbat takes ca. 95-97% CPU time. Even -O3 flag
during compilation on DEC doesn't help. SNNS on DEC was compiled using
both cc and gcc (2.6.1), with no visible difference.

Could anyone explain me this phenomenon?

And the other question: why there is -non_shared flag in CCFLAGS?
