I have just started a research project involved with investigating how neural
networks can be applied to music - from basic tonal recognition to musical
cognition to performance.

Can anyone out there give me some idea as to what the current state of the art
is, and what sort of research is going on right now ?? I would also like to
know what *recent* books, papers, journals etc have been published which could
also be of use.

Many thanks

Tony Burton
