G'Day

Below is a summary of responses I got. Alas there was no one who
could help with SNNS. Problem with whats out there is its bogged
down in fancy graphics, and other add-ons. For research into new
types of nets and algorithm you want something that can be modified
easily, and whose states/outputs can be viewed with a simple viewer
like xmgr or xfig or something as opposed to something hard-wired
into the code. I have therefore decided to write a, modular, simple
to understand and modify ANN simulator. I will distribute it if
people want it. Best test case are two of my students who know
virtually nothing about ANNs. Hence, if they can get into it,
anyone else should be able to. Still, if someone knows of such
software please let me know and save me the time..

	best regards

My student version of backprop may be more user friendly than SNNS,
however I've never seen SNNS so I can't really say. My software's
greatest liability is that the user interface is primitive. That is,
you type one letter commands with options. There is a built-in help
command and there are examples. It can be ftp'd (see below) or I can
email. There is also an improved "professional" version available,
$30 each for regular people.
