CATPAC can't read handwriting, only ASCII files. But they are raw text,
identical in form to what you're reading now. CATPAC could read the
comp.ai.neural-nets newsgroup as it came into the computer, for example.
It would then output dendograms and perceptual maps which showed the
main concepts covered and their interrelationships. In practice, marketers
and advertisers could generate strategies for manipulating the beliefs
and activities of the subscribers from these outputs.
