Briefly:
Kohonen SOFM for unsupervised clustering of multi-band remote
sensing data. Are there other ANNs suitable for this?

Aloha,

I'm researching the use of artificial neural networks for creating
unsupervised clustering of multi-band remote sensing data. I have
found many references describing ANNs for supervised classification
of RS images, but have have found few references for unsupervised.
Those I have found all seem to use Kohonen self-organizing feature
maps. Are there other ANNs suitable for unsupervised clustering of
RS data or is Kohonen the only way to go? Thanks for your help.

I'm posting separately to both comp.ai.neural-nets and
sci.image.processing so please respond via email and I'll send
a summary of responses to each list.
