   It seems to me that we already have artifical life "constructs"
which communicate to various ends.  Aside from the BioLand example
cited before, the "community groups" in Tierra might be seen as
"communicating" with their reproduction only in the presence of
others of their kind.  To me, the claim is only strengthened by the
fact that an external entity, a "hyper-parasite," can inject itself
between reproducing colonial entities and "miscommunicate"
intentions to get itself reproduced preferably.
