The NATO RSG10 research panel has produced a CD-ROM with standard
noises useful for testing recognisers

NOISE-ROM-0
NATO:AC243/(Panel 3)/RSG-10, ESPRIT Project 2589-SAM
Produced by: Institute for Perception - TNO/The Netherlands and
Speech Research Unit, DRA, St Andrews Road, Malvern, England

There is also the NOISEX database, which consists of standard speech
samples corrupted with noises from the RSG-10 Noise Rom.

A contact at the Speech Research Unit might be Andrew Varga, although
I think he has moved on to other work now.

>thanks in advance.

No problem.
