Position Available in Robotics and Automation Software Development


We are seeking a software-oriented professional to work on the design and
development of software systems for industrial robotics and automation.

The position will include work in the following areas:

        o "Task-level" programming systems for robotics and motion control.

        o "Task-level" interfaces to machine vision and other sensors.

        o Coordination of multiple automation systems.

        o Graphical user interfaces.

        o Network interfaces.

        o Robot language development

        o Real-time operating systems.


Qualifications:

        A Master of Science or Doctorate Degree in Engineering, Computer
        Science, or a related field.

        The applicants must be excellent computer programmers with
        substantial programming experience.

        Course work or experience in robotics, machine control,
        mathematics, language design, user interface design, computer
        networks, and computer vision.

        Experience with real-time operating systems is desirable.

        Available by August 1995.

Job environment:

        This position is with a small group of software engineers in
        Southern California, part of a 250+ employee company which designs
        and manufactures industrial robots, machine vision systems, and
        motion controllers.  The company has been on the cutting edge of
        these areas for over 10 years.  The working environment is a small
        office of casual, but hard-working individuals, in a suburban
        setting.
