Of course, _Mobile Robots : Inspiration to Implementation_, by Jones and
Flynn, was made for people such as you. A marvelous introduction
to the world of small robotics. It will lead you through the
construction of a robot of your own. I can tell you from experience
that it's relatively easy and loads of fun. Rug Warrior was in
fact my first real electronic assembly project (Even though Jones and
Flynn recommend against it!), and it came off without a hitch,
although thanks in part to fabulous online support by members of
comp.robotics and robot-board@oberon.com, including Joe Jones himself.
Anyway, the book is great, go get it and welcome to the happy community
of bot-builders.
