Hi all,

A while back, Jim Crowley (formerly at CMU, now at Imag, I believe)
posted a description of a standard "vehicle level" control protocol
originally developed at CMU around 1983. The protocol, which was used
on a number of CMU mobile platforms, was later adapted by TRC for their
Labmate controller.

I am interested in hearing about other attempts to develop "standard"
(i.e., portable, generic, etc.) control protocols for mobile robots.
Additionally, I am interested in what others have used for
specification of mobile robot control (i.e., command sets such as
"move x", "turn y", etc.). If you have developed a protocol/command
language, please send a description (or reference) to:

	terry@ptolemy.arc.nasa.gov

I will post a summary of all that I receive (and perhaps ask nivek to
include it in the FAQ).

Thanks very much!

Terry Fong
