Now with the new quartz gyros the one legged hopper would be a real
posibility.

It seems to me the quartz type gyros operate in a cyclic, rather than
a rotational mode.  What are the problems associated with this method
compared to rotational.  The accel-decel cycle must have nodes that
would be unusable........hmm.
