Do any of you folks know if some bright soul has solved the problem of
running multiple wires thru a joint? I'm not sure if this is the best
description of the problem, so here's an example:

If you create a robot arm which has a camera and "fingers" on the
hand, and the controlling electronics are in the "body." What I'd
like to do is to allow the hand to make an infinite number of
rotations, either clockwise, or counter, without having to rotate in
the opposite direction to "unwind" the wires.

I can't think of a way to do this, but I'm hoping somebody else has
solved this one. Please let me know if anybody has a solution.
