I seem to recall reading about work in chemical storage of electricity.
Splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen is an example but they were
working on better alternatives.  The point being that what we think of
as batteries are not the only technology available and it is likely
premature to dismiss electric cars due soley to limitations of batteries.
