                  * CALL for PARTICIPATION *
                  **************************

            CONFERENCE ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
           AND SYMBOLIC MATHEMATICAL COMPUTATIONS

          KARLSRUHE -- GERMANY (AUGUST 3 - 6, 1992)

Scope of the conference:
------------------------

The central theme of this conference is the interaction between AI and
Symbolic Mathematical Computations. The program has been set up, so
that each paper has been scheduled for a total time of 50 minutes.
The reason for the long scheduled time is that the conference should
have some of the aspects of a workshop, i.e. more than the usual time
is reserved for full discussion about each paper. Some of the
discussion will be about immediate technical points raised in the
papers, and the rest of it should ideally touch on how to maximize the
use of AI in areas of symbolic computing or how to maximize the use of
symbolic computing in areas of AI. An open session is scheduled on
August 6. It will be devoted to the informal presentation of ongoing
works by attendees. Additive demonstrations can be arranged during
the conference (see the demonstration/ informal talk form).

Social program:
---------------

A half day trip to Baden-Baden, a well-known resort south of
Karlsruhe, will be followed by a conference dinner in the Black
Forest.
