Hi, my name is Miriam Steiner.	I am posting this
request as part of an assignment for a class at Occidental
College in Los Angeles. I would appreciate any help you
can give me. Please send replies directly to me since I
am not a regular reader of this newsgroup.

Have you heard the story of the philosophy final exam
in which the only question was "Why?" and the only
students who got "A's" were the ones who answered "Why
not?" or "Because"?	I'm searching for the origin and
distribution of it.	If you have heard this story please
tell me so and give me any details you have as to its
source. If possible please include where you heard it,
from whom, when, and in what context.

My assignment is due Tuesday June 2, 1992 so if you
can reply please do so by then. Thank you very much.
