| After local midnight, aurora started as a quiet green arc. |

| Interesting stuctures showed up when I took this photo over lake Mendota. |

| Rays change rapidly within a few seconds. |

| The whole aurora started to pulsate at a frequency of about 3Hz, and the structure became less well-defined. I took this photo from Washburn observatory looking down at lake Mendota. |

| After an hour the aurora faded. |
